I have for sale 2 Adams Speedline drivers (the new gun metal head)

they both state 4.5 degree on the head but one is 5.1 and the other is 5.2 degree according to the tour van dude at the worlds where I bought them. They would not have hit more than 50 balls each

they have XX Jamie Sadlowski HOF shafts in them and those white golf pride grips

LD they measure 49"

I payed $350 USD each but will sell them for $250 AUD as completed clubs.

Will also consider a swap or part swap for a standard driver or other golf gear.

See ya all at the first event!!!

Are you bringing them to Canberra? If so i'll grab one off you - 5.1 or 5.2 doesn't matter.

cheers,
Adam

Had a bit of a hit with the new club at the range this morning - 15 shots in and it now looks like this. Hit a ball and it did a loop de loop in the air, looked down at the head and it just fell off.

I quite like the lower loft (was using a 7.5 on the weekend) but the shaft felt like I was swinging a piece of string with a rock on the end of it.

Whilst it's probably hard to believe after my efforts on the weekend, I normally hit the ball cleanly. I've got a stock callaway shaft that has lasted me a couple of years without a problem.

I hit maybe 5 balls with it in Canberra and probably 15 yesterday - no miss hits - looks like the inner core of the shaft has a whole bunch of air pockets in it.

Adam,

The Inner core you are quoting in the Images, is actually the expoxy/resin that is used to build the club. Which wouldn't effect the structure of the shaft.

Every Golf shaft is hollow in the middle, and when building resin gets pushed up the middle as in your images.

Not to offend you, but there are several ways a shaft can break at the hosel.

1. Sharp edges on the hosel, from bad preperation, when building the club! This is almost the case with old heads are used over and over. But I know this club, and it was a brand new club bought off Longdrivers of America. So cancel out this cause.

2. Mishits, having a lot shots on the toe or heal cause the shaft to work in a way, it wasn't designed for, causing the shaft to break down, and eventually break, but you say you have hit it clean. So we rule this out

3. Drop kicking the club many times at the driving range (It can only take one clip on the mat to start the process), clubs that are dropped kicked off driving range mats cause the shaft to obtain bad vibrations and breaking down the shafts structure. I have seen this many many times, almost all shaft companys won't warrant shafts that break at the hosel. But I will investigate for you, with House of Forged.

Cheers

Thanks for the information Jason. I actually spoke to the guy at the local shop and he said the opposite with regards to warranty and breaks at the hosel. I'm not saying you're wrong, but that is the first thing he said to me when I showed him where the break was on one of their demo clubs.

The only driving ranges I have here are on grass, whether that makes any difference. Yes I have drop kicked clubs and no I have not drop kicked this particular one - I have only hit 15 to 20 balls total with it - the club head looks brand new with zero scuff marks on any of the surfaces.

My other shafts house of forged ultra and UST have been going along fine and never felt like they were ready to break. I actually said to a mate on Saturday night that this shaft didn't seem to be very strong.

This is by no means a drama at all, I do not for a second think this is anyones problem but my own. I really was not a fan of the loose feel that the shaft had, so it would have been swapped out, this breakage simply means it will be changed sooner rather than later.

cheers,
Adam

The thing that surprises me the most here is that Gruber knows so much.

Gruber have you been reading again???

TA.

For what its worth Adam Ireally am sorry. I had no knowledge of it having any weak spots etc when I sold it to you. Peter Neve in Brisbane brought one as well and his is going fine. They were literally identical clubs.

I don't blame you at all, really wish I hadn't posted the images here. It's no big deal, I actually laughed when it broke and as I said I wanted to change out the shaft anyways.

Adam,

I have spoken with House of Forged, about this matter and their Warranty states:

Do HOF warranty your shafts for breakage?

Standard Driver Shafts = We generally offer warranty-replacement shafts to original owners for all standard 46” driver shafts, which were purchased from HOF or an authorized HOF dealer, and which were broken during normal use. Such shafts (along with the driver head) should be forwarded to House of Forged for inspection and replacement.
Long Drive Shafts = We generally offer a warranty replacement on long-drive shafts under the above terms. It is noted that many long drive shafts are broken due to improper installation (overheating the head), as well as being broken from hitting the ground repeatedly, or broken across the competitor’s back during the follow-through. Such use is not considered to be “normal use”. In those instancesm while we cannot offer a full warranty, we will offer a substantial discount toward the purchase of a replacement shaft.

But in saying this I have good news, HOF & I will this one time only warrant the broken shaft. Please contact myself to arrange when you would like this done. cheers

I hope this has made your week

Cheers J Gruber.
